Well next weekend some ECKFC members will be fishing Glenlyon Dam.

This is the the first weekend trip away for our club members in 2011. BY the looks of it we will have close to a dozen of our members attending. We are all hopeful that at least one of us will tangle with a murray cod which this dam is famous for. For more info on the trip information can be found here.

The second day trip for the year will be held at Ewan Maddock Dam inland on the Sunshine Coast on the 6 March 2011. There are plans for a BBQ to follow afterward. This dam has recently had its recreation area's upgraded and we are all looking forward to not only fishing the dam but to also check out the new facilities, for more info on the trip go here.

ECKFC will now hold our Sign on Day/Day Trip at Paradise Point on the Gold Coast. With a predicted rise in the winds this weekend the decision has been made to move the location to more protected water. The meeting point for the paddle is at the corner of Drake Avenue and The Esplanade, Paradise Point on the Gold Coast. This area offers wind protection , grassy banks, sand beaches, Shelter sheds and Toilets. It is close to a couple of bridges and canals of the Sovereign Island with the likelihood of catching the likes of Bream, Flathead and Whiting.

Likely to kick off around 6.30 am and meet back around mid morning for a BBQ and drinks.

The first trip for ECKFC in 2011 will be at Victoria Point on the south side of Brisbane. The plans are to gather here on the morning and fish the surrounding area. Afterwards there will be a sausage sizzle and a get together. This will be an opportunity for current members to pay there 2011 fees and also for any new members to sign up. Lets hope for some great weather, it is a full tide that morning so we will be able to fish the tide out. To follow details as they are announced go here

We have all been watching Survivor on the box for years......A few of us have suggested why doesn't the club  have this style of weekend in our trip Schedule. So with recent discussions on the club forum, ECKFC Member Nativeman has started a thread discussing the possibility of the club organising such a weekend. Camping from a kayak with the bare essentials does sound like a bit of fun, to have some input in the discussion go here.

After much interest from members of ECKFC, we will be having our first weekend trip away to Glenlyon Dam, near Texas in southern Queensland. This dam has a huge reputation for the chance of anglers tangling with a Murray Cod which is an iconic fish for most Australian freshwater anglers.

This trip is open for members of ECFKC only so if you would like to come along, join up. It will be a great weekend as always.

ECKFC will be having its 2011 sign on day on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at a south side location in Brisbane.

Membership to the club can be paid on the day, membership to ECKFC for 2011 is $24 for Adults and $10 for Juniors of participating Adults...

We will begin by having an early morning fish and then return for a get together with our usual sausage sizzle and drinks, stay tuned for the location which will be announced soon.....
